Speaker/Trainer
Are you interested in honing your speaking
and facilitation skills while providing meaningful community service?
Then consider presenting a two-hour seminar to the clients of Employment
Connection at one of their Friday morning workshops.
For the past three years, the Community Relations
committee of the Silicon Valley chapter of ASTD has been working
with Santa Clara County's Employment Connection to offer a variety
of work-related presentations to job-seekers. ASTD members benefit
by having a test audience to experiment with and test
new material and presentation methods. This is an excellent environment
to refine your presentation and materials on an active audience.
As one of our regular presenters states
delivering
this course takes me out of my typical training environment. Both
in content development and delivery, I get to test new ideas and
develop my platform skills. Each workshop is evaluated for
content and delivery by the participants for immediate review by
the presenter.
Presenters are needed for workshops over the
next few months. So, if you have a workshop or would like to develop
one, please consider this environment to offer your talents. You
can contact Don Harris, Employment Connection Account Representative,
to get your workshop on the calendar (email: harrisd@ssa.co.santa-clara.ca.us;
phone: (408) 999-6248). To learn more about the Employment Connection,
visit the web site at www.ecstaffing.com.
Or contact Kathleen Sexton, ASTD liaison to Employment Connection
at ksexton@stanford.edu.
