President
TERM: One year.
PURPOSE: To provide dynamic and engaging monthly membership programs
SUPERVISES: Program committee
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend monthly Board meetings, monthly chapter programs, and
regular committee meetings.
- Develop a budget for Program related income and expense. Stay
within that budget.
- Represent the chapter professionally and ethically
- Recruit and train volunteers to support Programs functions.
- Coordinate all aspects of program development including:
- Attract and secure exceptional speakers who address the
concerns and interests of our membership.
- Provide corporate locations for meetings.
- Provide promotional materials to CMT committee.
- Coordinate refreshments for meetings.
- Deliver a networking activity related to the meeting topic.
- Collect and report on participant feedback of programs.
- Provide greeters and speaker liaisons.
- Train incoming VP of Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to attract and lead committee members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
- Skills in effective leadership.
- National member of ASTD and a member in good standing of the
Silicon Valley Chapter.
- Time available to fully participate in chapter events.
- Directly involved in the Training and Development field.
REALISTIC ESTIMATE OF TIME THIS FUNCTION WILL TAKE EACH MONTH:
- Attending Board Meetings: 2 hours plus travel time
- Attending Programs Committee meetings: 1-2 hours plus travel
time
- Attending monthly chapter programs: 3 hours plus travel time
- Communicating with newsletter editor, individuals responsible
for website, administrative office and committee members about
routine issues: 2-4 hours
NOTE: Estimate of time for this function needs to reassessed in
2003.
